SSB – taxation and book-keeping Specialist

The project

Taxation and book-keeping Specialist has been a project that was devoted to women and was specifically tailored to meet their needs. It belongs to a series of ESF-supported projects implemented in the Kolping Training Centre in Ravensburg for women each of which had very good placement results.

The concept for SSB was developed on the foundation of a job-market analysis of the region of Ravensburg. It shows the difficulty in meeting the demand for professionals in the areas of taxes, book-keeping, salaries and wages. The characteristic of this trend can also be found at a national level where the number of vacant positions out number - twofold - that of those seeking such positions in these professions.

For the reasons stated above, the Kolping Training Centre offered women the chance to gain through qualification to administrator in the area of taxes and bookkeeping. It was targeted at women seeking employment, those attempting return to the workplace and single mothers wishing to elevate existing knowledge to the current level in the profession.

The qualification was composed of 605 classroom hours and took place in the form of a part-time package. The content of the courses was specific to the discipline and included content such as taxes, law, balances and annual accounting, personell accounting and management of salaries and wages and small business start-ups. The themes were augmented by classes in general as well as special computer applications such as DATEC and Lexware, goal and time management. Additionally, job application training along with career planning was offered as well. The qualification courses ended in December of 2007 with an examination.
